a) Truth

        This is rightly expressing the sense of something. So, it requires clearly understanding humbleness to recognize things.

        Truth sees things:

-as they are (objectivity),
-how they should be (honesty).

        Truth doesn’t eliminate my opinion. It just puts it in its place. It isn’t lacking foundation (a lie is a lie, whether it’s big or small). It excludes mental restriction (living in my own little world), and should repair any damage committed.

        Truth can’t be told only when it is a secret:

-of a court or medical case, by a judge or doctor (in certain cases);
-of the confessional, by
a priest (always).

c) Sins against Truth

        Spoken sins:

-lying: trying to deceive someone;
-false testimony: affirming something that isn’t true;
-gossiping: talking about other people’s personal business;
-mockery: pointing out someone’s defects;
-criticizing: judging someone with no foundation;
-libel: making false accusations;
-slander: harming someone’s reputation;
-conceit: bragging about one’s self.

        The sins of action are:

-hypocrisy: pretending to have certain qualities or feelings;
-identity theft: taking someone else’s place;
-simulation: pretending to be what you aren’t;
-demagogy: dominating people by making factions;
-duplicity: being two faced or having double standards.

        The sins of omission are:

-suspicion: thinking badly about someone with no reason;
-mistrust: not believing the truth;
-half truths: not telling the complete truth;
-information manipulation: distorting images or information.
